Role Plays

Each half-term, we set up a new large-scale role play within our main teaching area. These give the children the opportunity to develop their imagination and learn about the real world. Previous role plays have included:
☆ Bakery
☆ Mine, complete with large quantities of gravel
☆ Beach with sand and a boat
☆ Veterinary practice
☆ Sports area with Olympic podium
☆ Garage with a shop and carwash
☆ Castles and fairy stories

The topic for our role plays is taken from current local or national events, items of local or seasonal interest, or, most importantly, the interests of the children themselves. We support the topic of the role play with visits, outings, craft activities, and parental involvement.
